Volunteers Needed for In-person Events in Seattle area (Bellevue) and Los Angeles

Many hands make light work!

We’re seeking passionate individuals to help us bring these events to life! This is a unique chance to learn about Shinto traditions firsthand while contributing to a meaningful community event! Plus, volunteering can be helpful for your college applications! (We can provide a certificate for community service if needed.)

Seattle Volunteer form

Los Angeles Volunteer form

Seattle Event: 

When: Sunday, October 12th, 10 am to 4 pm

Monday (Indigenous Peoples' Day), Oct 13th, 10 am to 2:30 pm

Where: BCA Saturday School Campus

(14673 NE 29th Place, Bellevue, WA 98007)

Los Angeles Event:

When: Sunday, November 9th, 9 am - 4 pm

Where: Fiona's (2512 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034)

Shrine's storage room: Los Angeles, CA 90034. Nearby Metro's Culver City Station

🔶 Important Notes for Volunteers:

- Transportation and accommodations are your responsibility.

- Shifts are flexible; you don’t need to commit to the whole day!
-You should be able to stand for long periods, handle hot or cold weather, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Additionally, you can earn community service hours for school, college, or work.
- If you’re interested in becoming a Miko or a priest’s assistant, these volunteer opportunities can count as valuable experience and credit towards that path.

Shinto instruments are sacred, and objects contain spirits,

so they must be treated carefully and properly, following the priest’s guidance.

🙌 We Need Help With:

- Pre-Event Work at the Shrine Office in LA

- Storage Load-Up in LA

- Altar Setup in Seattle and LA

- Storage Load-Out in LA

- Volunteers to help with check-in, Temizu, and other tasks during both events

Observe Shichigosan and various Gokitō blessings during these events, and join our Member Gathering with Rev. Izumi and other shrine volunteers and members!
