

MailChimp Team
-Write, schedule, and send out ceremony announcements, reminders, Shrine communications, etc.
-Coordinate with other volunteer sections for updates

Social Media Team (FB, Twitter/X, IG, BlueSky, Reddit, etc)
-Coordinate with Mailchimp and Video teams for ceremony announcements, archive announcements, and other Shrine event announcements

Design and Illustration Team
-Coordinate with Priest on illustration needs for YouTube and Social Media
-Create seasonal ceremony announcements, fundraising announcements, and promotional flyers/postcards

Video Team
-Review and edit tsunami-sai, closing talks, seasonal ceremonies, and recordings of live events

YouTube Team
-Manage live stream during broadcast: transitions and music
-Collaborate with Shrine Writers and Head Priest to write video descriptions, scripts, and programs.
-Coordinate with the Video team to post content on YouTube

Join-it Team
-Manage and maintain up-to-date membership records
-Assist in writing confirmation and notification emails for membership status

Website
-Coordinate with all other Shrine teams to create posts for Shrine events
-Must know or learn how to use WordPress and various plugins

Fundraising
-Design and manage Shrine Building and Mobile Shrine projects
-Collaborate with community groups and other organizations to host fundraising events or campaigns

Shamusho (L.A. area only)– You must be able to maintain your commitment to this position, as it involves the care of Kami. The work site is very small, with only 1-2 people working at a time.
-Inventory and shipping management- All Shinto items contain kami (spirits), so the packing procedure is very detailed
-Manage time-sensitive member items (age-related ceremonies, seasonal ceremonies, member birthdays,
membership anniversaries, seasonal ceremonies) and be sure the correct items are gathered and sent out
-Deliver items to the post office
-Norai package volunteer: work includes packaging blessed offerings to send to members. Volunteers will use a vacuum sealer and fold origami under the Priest’s instructions
Pop-up Shrine (Be willing to travel to or live in the L.A. area). These events will have their own sign-up forms. This is for reference only.

Pop-up Shrine Build team
-Shrine and/or ceremony set-up and take down at rental spaces, festivals, businesses, etc
-Must be able to stand for long periods, endure hot/cold weather, and lift and/or carry at least 30 pounds

Oshogatsu Juyosho and Information Booth
-Manage information booth for the Shrine and handle distribution of Shinto items at festivals or events
– Must know the Shinto items being distributed (Ofuda, Omamori, Ema, etc), their purpose, and use
-Must be able to stand (or be seated) for long periods and endure hot/cold weather
