Welcome, and arigatou gozaimasu for being interested in Shinto Shrine of Shusse Inari in America. I believe from now you make bond with Shusse Inari Ōkami-sama. (The suffix “-sama” is a way of showing respect in Japanese).
During World War II, all Japanese immigrants and Japanese Americans in the U.S. were sent to concentration camps. At that time, all Shinto shrines in the country were seized, and there have been no Inari shrines on the U.S. mainland since then.
Now, in the 21st century, more people are becoming interested in the timeless spirituality of Japan. In particular, many have been drawn to Inari Ōkami, realizing how special this deity is as the root of life. Indeed, it is through Inari Ōkami’s divine virtue that we can sustain and enjoy our lives as human beings. People are also recognizing the importance of a faith that values our planet, world peace, and the protection of nature. So, it is very natural that I have been asked to establish an Inari shrine in the U.S. by more and more people. Because I was born and raised in a family that runs Shusse Inari Shrine, I have been serving my home shrine’s deities all my life. However, I did not focus on it very much until I decided to study to become a Shinto priest.
After my study and training, I received a Shinto priest seikai certification from the Association of Shinto Shrines (Jinja Honchō) in 1998. But instead of serving at my home shrine, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of being a Hollywood film journalist. After much work, I became one of the people who achieved their dreams, having interviewed over 5,000 celebrities including Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Richard Gere, you name them! I believe the deities of Shusse Inari Shrine have watched over and supported my effort. So, I would like to let you know that if you make an effort, Inari Ōkami-sama will watch over and help your dreams come true too, just like I have experienced.
Now, you have created a bond with Shusse Inari Ōkami-sama. As you cultivate and deepen your faith, you will see what you can achieve together with Shusse Inari Ōkami-sama! Let us strive not only for the achievement of personal dreams but also for the betterment of all lives on this planet, for world peace and co-existence, and for harmony between nature and humankind.

アメリカ出世稲荷神社にご興味を持っていただき、ありがとうございます。
第二次世界大戦の折、アメリカでは、日本人の移民と日系人は収容所に強制的に入れられました。その際、アメリカ本土にあった神社はすべて放置され、取り壊されました。それ以来、稲荷神社はアメリカ本土にはありません。21世紀に入り、人々がスピリチュアルなものに感心を強く抱くようになると、より多くの人が自然の恵みの力そのものである稲荷の大神様がいかに特別な存在かに気づくようになり、世界平和と自然を大切にする気持ちが高まるようになってきました。そうした流れを受けて、アメリカに稲荷神社を作ってほしいという声が以前よりも強くなってきたのも自然と言えるでしょう。
私は出世稲荷神社で生まれ育ちました。物心ついた時から巫女として神様にお仕えしてきましたが、神職の資格を得ることを決めるまでは、神道について深く考えたことはありませんでした。1998年、神職の勉強と訓練をし、神社庁から神職の正階の資格をいただきました。しかし、実家の出世稲荷神社にて神職として奉職することよりも、ハリウッドの映画ジャーナリストになるという夢を叶える方を優先し、ロサンゼルスに移住しました。今では、その夢を叶え、スティーブン・スピルバーグやトム・クルーズ、ジョニー・デップ、アンジェリーナ・ジョリー、ジュリア・ロバーツ、リチャード・ギアなど、のべ５０００人の映画人に取材をしてきました。これも、出世稲荷神社の大神様が私の努力を見守り、助力くださったお陰と信じています。努力をすれば、出世稲荷の大神様は必ずそれを見ており、願いが実現するよう助力をし、また、良いご縁を巡り合わせてくださるというのをより 多くの人に知っていただきたいと思っています。
大神様との絆を深められると、祈願に注ぐ努力を大神様が見守ってくださっていると感じる瞬間をより体験されることと思います。また、努力は個人それぞれの願いに向けてだけでなく、世界平和や自然を大切にすること、そして、生きとし生けるものすべての調和という地球に住む全てのものの願いに向けてでもあることを信じています。
