To ensure respectful handling of sacred items like Naorai or hitogata/katashiro,

we are introducing an option for members to accept or decline these items.

Hitogata/Katashiro are representation of people/pets/vehicles used in our bi-yearly cleansing ceremonies.

Only one member of a Sakaki Membership needs to fill out this form.

  • 1 hitogata per person, if you do not have a Sakaki membership, only choose 1 hitogata/vehicle katashiro
  • 1 pet katashiro per pet, if your pet is not listed in your Sakaki membership, do not answer this question.

Naorai are blessed foods (rice, salt, and seaweed etc) that has been offered to the kami-sama during seasonal celebrations like Saitan-sai and Setsubun-sai.

These decisions are not final, if you decide that you would like to receive these items after you've declined them, please email us at members@shintoinari.org and we will update your selections.
