年越の大祓 Toshikoshi-no-Ōharae & 除夜祭 Joya-sai for 2021
Friday, December 31st, 2021 at 3 pm (PST)
On December 31st, the Shinto Shrine of Shusse Inari in America will hold its annual Shinto Ceremonies Toshikoshi-no-Ōharae and Joya-sai.
In the Toshikoshi-no-Ōharae, we pray to the nature spirits / Kami-sama for purification and ask them to recharge our spirits, and bless us with health and protection from misfortune and illness. For details, please visit here.
For Joya-sai, which is the New Year’s Eve matsuri, we communicate our gratitude to the nature spirits, Kami-sama, for the blessings we have received this year and ask for their blessings to bring happiness, good fortune, and prosperity for the coming new year. You are very welcome to participate our ceremony for Joya-sai, as well as to pray wherever you are.
Due to the location of this event, there will be no Closing Talk for these ceremonies.
We plan to live-stream the ceremony on YouTube starting at 2 pm (PST) on the channel “ShintoInari.” Please note that the wifi conditions at the ceremony location may not allow us to stream, in which case we will record it and publish it later.
We hope that you can join us!
The location of the ceremony will be at Little Tokyo. The Oshogatsu in Little Tokyo / New Year Celebration event will be at our booth. Please come and show your appreciation to Kami-sama. For details please visit here.
Please come and participate our Once-a-Year Shinto ceremony!
This is the best day to do Hatsumōde 初詣, your first shrine visit of the new year!
Shinto items Hamaya, Kumade, Ofuda, Ema and Omamori will be available at the booth. Please request your items soon as they are quickly running out!
